Floriana

We visited the Floriana restaurant twice, both were very nice. First time was a family dinner during the holidays, the second with neighborhood friends. Between the two trips to this high end local Italian restaurant in the heart of the historic district of Wilmington lots of menu items were tried. We enjoyed the lobster bisque for sure. It was very good with small pieces of lobster, yes excellent. Moved on to steamed mussels and fried brussel sprouts plus a calamari dish. All were good. The calamari was a touch rubbery. No salads on either visit and only one pasta dish. It was a fettuccine bolognese, which was rated very good . Other entrées included a duck breast, perfect; the Bronzino, cooked really well and a pork tenderloin with sweet potato and Gorgonzola cheese. All received high praise. The service was good, very good one time and just OK the second time, perhaps they were under staffed that night. Overall the best Italian so far in the area, a little pricey, but it definitely recommend.
