Rum Cow

We were not happy with our first trip to RumCow due to not really liking any of the small bites we tried including the coconut shrimp and the chicken fried cauliflower.

Thus we headed off again three weeks later for another try. Once again not loving it. We literally tried every item on the To Share list. Crispy pork belly was not!! Nashville Fried Chicken and Waffle sliders were okay, but not great. Tuna Poke tacos were pretty good but not awesome enough to over come the Cordon Blue Fries which should have been great and weren’t. Basically light on taste.

Many people have really said they like RumCow so we have decided to try a third time and get entrees and see if that’s the ticket for RumCow. We’ll see. ….

And so we did! Back for a third time. Leslie, Wendy, and I listened to our friends and returned to RumCow for almost unprecedented third time! As Gomer Pyle would say…. “SURPRISE, SURPRISE, SURPRISE!” It was just terrific. Started with the only starter we hadn’t tried before, the Shrimp and fried grits taco. It was really tasty and ate very well. Then we each chose an entry. Leslie’s Wagyu flank Steak with soba salad was super tasty and cooked perfectly. The Soba noodle salad with cold ginger was a perfect asian umami. Wendy went for the Char seared tuna with spinach, pineapple salsa and chimichuri and it brought smiles to our faces. I went for the signature Rum Cow Burger. The burger was perfect in flavor and cooking. Lots of background flavors with bacon aioli and peach rum chutney. The fries were crispy outside and soft interior. Just right!
Well we have to admit total change of perspective. Three solid recommendations from us!
